Born and raised in New Brunswick, she graduated with a dual major in Puerto Rican and Hispanic Caribbean Studies and Administration of Justice. Madai is first-generation, along with her only brother and several cousins, all graduating from Rutgers. She immediately plunged into an unrelated career in pharmaceutical marketing and medical comminucations as a Project Coordinator, Manager, and ultimatley Director. Madai took a brief detour to become a top sales director in Mark Kay Cosmetics for 2 years in which she earned free cars and empowered hundreds of women entrepeneurs to follow their dreams. Upon the birth of her third child, Madai decided to resume the corporate life to ensure a more stable income for her family, which includes her husband and disabled mom. Madai is excited to join the Latino and Hispanic Caribbean Studies Department at her alma mater, a life-long dream.
