First Ongoing Project for the Semester

Choose a Mexican state and let me know this thursday which one you have chosen.  Feel free to select a state based on anything whatsoever.   For thursday, be prepared to tell us in class what state you selected and what you have learned about it so far through class readings. 

Throughout the semester you will continue working on different aspects of your state's history, culture, politics, etc.  If you want to go ahead of the work one step see what books and articles you can find in FIRSTSEARCH'S WORLDCAT and the HISPANIC AMERICAN PERIODICAL INDEX and see what you can learn by browsing these references (NOT the actual books or articles, just the references).  If you want to get two steps ahead of the process see what web-based resources you can find that will help you start learning about your chosen state (keep track of these through bookmarks, saving the web page (Alt F1) or cutting and pasting). See what solid, scholarly sources you can find through the internet.
