The readings give some guidance as to what a research
plan is. For now you need to lay out a plan that is both practical
(library x, archive y) and that also responds to the different kinds of
sources you will be looking for. It should include (and remenber,
this is something you will be working on and expanding during the entire
term)
These plans will be dynamic (they will change
along the way) and should be as comprehensive as possible. Remember,
you will be including in this plan many items and things that you will
not be able to or really should not even try to follow through on, especially
those of you not writing theses. The Plan is the map for a rehearseal
for a total research project. Much of it then will respond to the
specific needs and features of your work. But be imaginative and
greedy--imagine you have a $100,000 budget to travel and hire assistants...
Start with a basis scheme and I will give you input. You can post this to the K: drive so I can look at them plus bring printed copies to class.
Feel free to consult other writing/research guides
and to bring the results to class.
