For our next session you  have to chose one journal in your field and one that has to do with the third world (it can overlap with an aspect of your primary field) and write a report for our class discussion that discusses most of the following themes. You will have to examine the entire run of the journals for this.
 

• What does the journal cover, what are its goals and underpinnings, does it have any explicit or implicit theoretical assumptions?
• What is its history, where is it published, what people or organization edit it?
• Content analysis, types of articles, organization of issues...
• Biases, problems--provide a critique..
• How is it useful?
• Where is it indexed?
• Has it changed along the way?
• Who should read it?
