Latino History

Final Research Project

Bibliographic Research Project

Choose one ethnic/national group and one theme from the weekly themes in the syllabus. Spend the next 12 weeks carrying out bibliographic research on this theme. Compile a well organized, annotated bibliography of reference materials, journal/magazine articles, books, and multimedia materials on your selected topic. The goal is not to write a paper but to do the work as if you were getting ready to do a major writing project. Get familiar with the literature. Learn to skim and browse the materials instead of reading everything intently. We are looking for a 20 page properly organized report with an short introduction to the project and a well organized presentation of the materials.

Do not rely on bibliographic listings. The materials you list have to be well orgnized and annotated (one paragraph or two per item) precisely because you have looked at them and can place them in context.

Paper should be 7-8 pages, properly formatted.
